January 2007- Happy New Year to one and all! We hope everyone had a joyfull and relaxing holiday season. Thanks to everyone that made it out to our show at Rudyard's last month, and extra special thanks to Catch-35 for asking us to be part of the show. It was our first gig in a long while, and it was the unveiling of our new guitarist, Will Nivens. From the feedback we received, it sounds like we haven't missed a beat by not gigging for a while. We are working up new tunes and will soon be looking to book more dates so stay tuned. Until next time . . .
November 2006- Hope everyone had a great and restfull Thanksgiving, and that you've still got some dough in your pockets because . . . Echolost has a gig on December 14th at Rudyard's! We'll post more specifics as the day gets closer, but mark your calendars and plan to come and hear the latest encarnation of Echolost. We're very excited to have Will as our guitarist, and when you come and hear him, you'll know why. We'll be working in a few new tunes, plus some old standards, at the show. Sharing the stage with us that night will be our good friends Catch-35, plus the Scattered Pages. Hope to see you all there!

October 2006- "October, and the leaves are stripped bare of all they wear, what do I care..." U2 Well, it is October and it has been three months since the last post. But, here we are, ready to go again. We want to thank everyone who came out to see us perform at the Engine Room. It was a great time. Our friends Ryan Guidry, from Catch-35, and Adam Voskamp, from The Divisionists, filled in admirabley for the then vacant lead guitar role in the band. Thank you so much for everything guys, it was truely a night to remeber. We would also like to thank Miss Shirley's Bar for being a great place to play and a wonderful place for Baytown musicians. We were honored to be asked to play one of the last shows there. A super thanks to all of you who came out to support us, yet again. Good luck Shirley, we hope you find a home, soon. We have been on a hiatus of sorts. We took time off to write new music, and we also have SOME GREAT NEWS...Will Nivens
(This is Will)
has joined the band in the role of lead guitarist. He is a true lead player with style and fire, so, check him out the next time we play a show. We want to welcome him to our family and we can't wait to rock the hell out, soon! We have some great new songs and some more familiar favorites. If you get a chance, drop Will a message on our message board. Thank you one and all for the support. We hope to see you very soon. Till we meet again.

June 2006- What it be Echonation? We really appreaciate all the folks who came out and supported us at the Cancer benefit show. We raised a little money and hopefully some spirits.
It is now June, actually closer to the end of June, and we here at Echolost wanted to give the warmest well wishes to one of our own. On Saturday, June 24th, our great friend, Bad-Ass bass player, and vocalist, Mr. Robert Juarez Jr. became the husband of Mrs. Stephanie (Cano) Juarez during a beautiful ceremony at St. Joseph's Catholic church on Carolina St. in West Baytown, which was followed by one hell of a party at the Sylvan Beach Pavilion in LaPorte. Shortly there after the happy couple went to the Cayman Islands for la Luna de Miel or the Honeymoon. Robbie and Stephanie, may you both be blessed. We wish you nothing less than the best for your marriage, with much love, respect, and friendship, from your family here at Echolost.
On Guitarist news, we are still working with prospects and hopefully we will have an anouncement soon.
Also, we are playing a show at THE ENGINE ROOM! WOO HOO! It will be Thursday, July 6th. Check our schedule section for more info. We hope everyone can make it out, you know we love to see your beautiful faces in the place. What are we doing for a guitarist you ask? Well, we will have Ryan Guidry from Catch-35 playing for us with a guest guitarist filling in for two songs. Who is this guest guitarist you ask? Well, it is none other than our friend and head Divisionst, Adam Voskamp. What songs will Adam play? Come to the show and find out.
Till the future meets the past in the present or cheese is king...YEV YO!

May 2006- What's happening Echonation?? Thanks to everyone that came out to the Longneck Festival to support us. The overall turnout was meek, but hopefully the organizers and the powers that be can find a middle ground and maximize the turnout for next year. On to more news. Echolost is close to getting back to regular action as our search for a lead guitarist has accelerated. In fact, please come out to see us May 20 at the Texas Horny Toad to see a prospect in action. He shall remain nameless, but come check us out to hear him as he joins us for 4 songs. Speaking of that engagement, we are sharing the stage with the Ludovico Treatment, Slappy's Groove Shack, and Catch-35 for a benefit performance for a cancer stricken acquaintance. Her medical bills are rapidly building, so the club owner's have agreed that 100% of each $5 cover will go to her. Please join us for some great music, and a great cause. We're slotted for 8:45 or 9 PM, hope to see you there!

April 2006- Greetings to all of Echonation! First off, we'd like to announce we've got a show coming up! On Sunday, May 7, we'll be playing the Baytown Longneck Festival! I know it's a Sunday, but we're going on sometime in the afternoon, so you'll still be able to get in early that night. Come out and support us, and check out all of the Festival activities. Our search for a guitarist is still ongoing, but we do have some prospects. If any of you know of someone or want to audition, please get in contact with us! I know it's taking some time, but we wanna make sure we get the right person for the job. In the interim, our old pal and former guitarist Larry will be sitting in with us for the Longneck Festival. It'll be nice to take the stage with him again (for the last time???). We hope to see everyone at the Longneck Fest! Until then . . . .
Robbie
March 2006- First off, Happy New Year! since we haven't updated since last year. Its been a while, I know, and Echolost has been dormant. But we're slowly awakening from our slumber. Shows are starting to pop up again. Speaking of which, we have a show this Friday, March 24, at 9 PM at Miss Shirley's in Baytown. We're opening the show for buddies Catch 35, who will play until 2 AM. Also, we are confirmed to play the 2nd Baytown Longneck Festival, dates and times TBD. There are a few other shows in the works, and when we get confirmation we'll pass the word on. Oh, special thanks to our fans that made it out to the Last Concert Cafe last week. We apologize for that jack-hole Ramsey, the show promoter. It appears he enjoyed too many libations, and when you mix that with poor organizational skills and a lack of professionalism, you get awful shows. We'll never play any shows with Ramsey or Iambik, and I suggest any fellow musicians avoid that guy. Enough of that. Also, we're still looking for a lead guitar player, so if you know of anyone (or you play the guitar) that may be interested, contact us for an audition. In the interim, we'll have guest lead players. The show must go on! Hope to see all of you this Friday at Miss Shirley's!

December 2005 (revisited)- It is with a sad heart I have to report that Larry, our friend and lead guitarist has decided to follow his own musical direction, away from Echolost. We will miss him and, of course, wish him the best in his new endeavors. Check back for details about the band and all current developments.
Yours with love and peace
Echolost
December 2005- Hey, this time, we actually didn't skip a month. Thanks to all of you who made it out to our show at Helios. We had a great time. Not a whole lot this month. We are working up some new songs to add to the set list. Thank you for your support and have a great holiday season.

November 2005- Speaking of long lapses, there is a month between September and November, ain't there? I believes so, well, enough of this banter and on to the news. As you all know Mike, our dear friend and drummer, has found a home with a new band and of course we wish him the best ever. But still and though, we needed a drummer, and as luck, chance, fate, destiny, and or energy would have it, we have done so. Let me, Jacob,(thus the wyrd message, yev yo) and the rest of Echolost officially welcome our new friend and drummer Fabian Galvan and his family to our family. He is a dynamo on drums (beats the mercy out of them muthas) and will bring a lot of energy and fire to our playing. Below is a picture of him in case you were wondering. We will be having shows pop up in the near future so stay tuned to our website and E-mails to let you know of upcoming events. Thanks for the ongoing support. And watch out for Echolost in the near future, it is nearer than you think

P.S. Hurricanes are crappy things to be stuck in, can I get a HELL YEAH...also, much props and respect due to all the people who where stuck out on the roads of Texas trying to make a safe way for their families and themselves. Also, extra special respects and thanks to all those of you who really heleped (and are still helping) when the going got tough, by not gouging prices, by letting people go to the bathroom, by giving people water and food, and by helping out like right decent human beings. It says a lot about Texans, and in our book, you are heros, everyone of you. Until then...
September 2005- Sorry for the lapse between updates. Time has flown by and we've neglected the site for a while. Anyways, let me get to the news. First off, thank you so much to the good folks that made it out to the show at PJs on August 20! If you couldn't make it, shame on you . . . just kidding. It was a night of great music. Extra special thanks to our co-performers, Ryan Guidry and Slappy's Groove Shack. On to some sad news: Mike has left the band. He decided to pursue an opportunity with another band, and we wish him well. We'll find a replacement drummer and Echolost will continue, just give us some time. In the meantime, look for Larry, Jacob, and myselft (Robbie) to do some acoustic shows in Baytown, Houston, or wherever else they'll let us play! We'll make sure and pass along upcoming show dates/times as they appear. Until then . . .
ps please donate something to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort
July 2005 - Well it's been a busy couple of months. In case you have missed it the recent show at The Meridian was a blast. The roof was bouncing that night. Please check the schedules page for upcoming dates. For you early birds, we will be on KPFT radio channel FM 90.1 Monday morning, August 1st at 4:30 AM. Man I can't believe we have to get up so early, but it will be a blast. KPFT is a great supporter of local music. We have made a lot of great connections over the past few months. One in particular is with a band called Slappy's Groove Shack. They are a great funk rock band with a unique sound that will have you moving and grooving. Hank, Justin & Adrian are a great bunch of guys and great musicians. They will be on the bill with us at our show at PJ's on August 20. Check them out. Until next month & thanks for your support.
May 2005 - The Houston International & The Baytown Long Neck Wildlife Festivals were great successes. Sorry if you missed a great time. Please plan to join us next year. Also don't forget to check them out at the Houston International Festival on Saturday, April 23rd at 3:00 PM on the Flamingo Gardens stage just behind the courthouse down town.
March 2005 - Echolost's self titled debut CD is almost complete. They are in the final mixing stage and they will release it at the Houston International Festival on April 23rd (see link below). You can hear a few tracks on the music page. "We are really pleased with the outcome. We did everything ourselves and were a little nervous about the quality at first, but it sounds great." say drummer Mike Kelton. Come out to the I-Fest and be a part of the CD release party.
February 2005 - Echolost will be an opening act at 2005 Houston International Festival. Echolost goes on the first Saturday, April 23rd at 3:00 PM. Be there for some great music, food & fun, and celebrate Houston's cultural diversity. This year's I-Fest theme is India.
January 2005 - The Echolost debut CD is about 50% complete. "Things started out kinda slow, but we're moving along much faster now. We hope to have it done soon, so we can get back on the road. We all miss playing live.", says drummer, Mike Kelton. You can hear rough mixes of a couple of songs on the music page. Updates to follow.
December 2004 - Echolost is currently in the studio recording their first CD to be released some time in 2005. The band hopes to have a few songs out on a sample CD by January or February of 2005 to make available to their fans. "We'd really like to have something that people can take with them after hearing us live." says lead singer Jacob Shafer. Lead guitarist Larry Pinder adds, "It helps to get a crowds out to our shows when they have something to listen to and know what we sound like." Check future news issues for a follow up story once the CD is released.
